About NCHS
NCHS is a 501(c)(3) organization governed by a volunteer board of individuals from within the eight county Service Area. The company has a long tradition of successfully providing medical services, originally via Lafayette Home Hospital. In 1998, Greater Lafayette Health Services (GLHS) was created bringing the two general medical hospitals under joint ownership and management. In 2003, NCHS sold its membership in GLHS while continuing to provide ambulatory surgical services to the community. In January of 2010, NCHS acquired Wabash Valley Hospital in West Lafayette, Indiana. The psychiatric inpatient facility was renamed River Bend Hospital. This understanding of complex delivery systems, and recognizing opportunities to enhance and further develop those systems, continues to drive our objectives to provide and award grants to other organizations that provide services of high quality in an efficient and cost-conscious manner.
The corporation has provided and intends to continue to provide grants to worthy non-profit entities in the Corporation’s eight county service area.
